This is just an introduction post in order for us to continue on this blog theme. This topic will bring us into our objective to make money online. SEO or Search Engine Optimization plays a big role going through earning big bucks in the internet. We cannot achieve an organic traffic from search engines if we are not ranking on a term that we want.

Search Engine Optimization is a tidy and long process to cultivate but the fruit is truly rewarding. For newcomers who are not aware on what SEO is, well place it like this so everyone can understand even an elementary grade. When you search on search engines like Google, Yahoo or MSN, you see results or website that mentions the term you are searching lined up in order from 1-10 normally. See example pictures .

I search the term “Onemansgame” without quote in google. In order for your site to get traffic you need to be on that top rank when you search for the term. Eventually users of search engine Google will go to your site from the search query they are looking. It is just clearly implies that search engines find your site relevant on your query thus displaying it on the top of the their search results of the particular term. The example is not that competitive, it was just used just to illustrate how can SEO do to your site to get traffic from searches all over the world for the particular term.

Now we go the the process on how can we achieve such rankings if we are achieving or targeting a highly search keywords. Highly search keywords means how much volume the particular search term or keyword is used or type in search engine to find information. Here are some tips you might want to consider.

Search Engine Friendly Pages or URL or link. Search engine friendly url or pages of your site means that your pages can easily be crawled by search engines bots (they are the one seeking your contents and links to be indexed like Googlebot) and can easily found by humans. Take note that SEO does not always deal with feeding the search engines but also feeding human visitors to remember your site or pages easily. Having an example below, you will probably understand what I mean.

I have this two url or page, (1)http://www.onemansgame.com/kick-off-of-onemansgoal-blog-about-make-money-online/ and (2) http://www.onemansgame.com/index.php?=tags&kick-off-of-onemansgoal-blog-about-make-money-online&ssessionid=123456&url

What do you think will that search engine bots and human visitors will remember? Which URL or page will get indexed faster? Clearly enough the first one can easily be remembered and indexed first. Why? It is appealing to human visitors than the second url. Search engine bots sometimes will spend time crawling your pages thus leaving the second url in limbo and can just cause some parameters that bots can’t understand. Googlebot and other search spiders can flag it as irrelevant on the issue of parameters they can’t understand. The second url can also cause a broken relevant link or pages.

Organized Pages or Internal Linking. Suppose you went to a house (not yours) and see how everything was arranged and have seen the house like a junk. What would you feel? That is basically the same thing that search bots are looking and human visitors. How many clicks of mouse do I need to go the page that I want. Are the pages link in a way pleasing to eyes of human visitors? Or how deep your other pages away from the homepage? Organized pages or links of your site should be in order, visitors tend to go away to your site if they will click on too many links just to go to the information they want. It must be few clicks away from the homepage with an ideal of up to four (4) directory away. Example is yoursite.com/directory/subdirectory/information.html and don’t go beyond that.

Site Content or Information. How can your site be visited if they don’t have content? How can you encourage your first time visitors if they just find an scrap content or pages or just a junk full of ads? Content is still king in SEO. Content is not just pointing to articles but also products, softwares, valuable information, prices etc. Feed both the human and search bots with information they want. For example someone is looking for a digital camera, you need to place what are the specification of the camera, the price of the camera and other useful details a digital camera has.

Keywords. Make sure in conjunction with content the keyword you want your site to rank. But don’t over emphasize the keyword on your content or article, make it at least 2 or 3 occurrence inside the content.

Incoming Links or Backlinks. This is the second hardest part of doing SEO beside content. In order for our site to be recognized in the world, we need to have it mentioned on other sites related to our topic. We need links pointing to our site using our targeted keyword or key phrase. A variation of keywords or key phrases is good in doing link building. Our incoming should be in quality. Quality that is measured on how relevant the link pointing to our site is. How strong is the site we have links in? Example, we are building link to site about kids laptop, would you think a link pointing to us from a pharmaceutical site is of quality? The answer is a big NO, our backlinks should be coming from related sites like laptop sites, laptop forums or a semi relevant site like technology site.

Design. Design are specifically for our human visitors. Bots don’t see if we have a beautiful graphics lying on our site. Design is important to please human visitors to come back. A good design can also work as a link bait as the best site in terms of design. First impression always last.

Outgoing Links. Most of the time, some webmasters are ignoring this parameter on SEO. They tend to go on incoming links rather than outgoing links. Outgoing links must be relevant again to your site topic. Example, if your site is about search engine optimization, would you like to place an outgoing site that is on adult niche? I don’t think so. Your site might be flag by search engine bots as just a house of spam links.

So far they are just the basic on SEO or search engine optimization. This is just a start for us to continue and drive traffic to our site to gain revenue from either organic search results from engines or from human visitors.
